2S: Weave Fold Variation
This one’s a super fun, eye-catching Two Step combo that’s still 100% leadable out on the social dance floor. Anthony and Rose break down this intermediate-level pattern that starts in promenade, rolls through an inside turn into an inside weave, and then adds a slick shoulder catch and halo-style turn to finish things off. It kicks off with a promenade walk, setting up a prep and an inside weave. Leaders, you’ll learn how to reverse direction mid-pattern and work your way around your partner while keeping everything smooth and connected. The trick here is in the timing — both of your footwork AND your lead. Rose explains how followers can pick up the rhythm based on the lead’s intention, not just memorized steps. The second half of the move introduces a shoulder catch (or as they call it, a “shoulder receive”) that sets up a graceful overhead halo turn. There are a couple of rhythm changes in this one too, and they’ll walk you through exactly how to handle them without getting lost. It’s unique, it’s stylish, and it’s still totally usable in real-world dancing. If you want to turn heads without making your partner guess — this is the one to try.
