2S: Tandem Pass

This one's a fun little show-off pattern that gives both partners a chance to shine. It starts with a clean entry into sweetheart position, adds a stylish turn for the leader, a smooth hand change, and wraps up with a neck roll that flows right back into closed. It’s one of those combos that looks advanced but really just builds on fundamental shapes and lead/follow concepts. We walk you through every detail—where to place the hands (and how not to), how to stay on opposite feet even during the body opening, and how to move around your partner while keeping the whole thing connected and clear. There’s also a helpful breakdown of when to rotate, when to redirect, and how to stay aligned so you don’t trip over each other mid-turn. Oh, and if you’ve ever been confused about how (or when) to use a neck roll, this is a great lesson to see it in action—done safely, comfortably, and socially. It’s one of those patterns that really turns heads… without breaking necks. Great for intermediate dancers who want something showy without getting lost in the weeds.
