2S: Surprise Hammerlock Combo

In this lesson, Anthony and Rose teach an awesome Two Step pattern they cooked up on the fly—it's got turns, wraps, and direction changes that'll definitely turn heads on the dance floor. This is one of those intermediate-to-advanced combos that blends a bunch of techniques you may have seen before into something that flows together in a whole new way. You’ll start in promenade and go into a left turn led with the opposite hand—yeah, it’s weird, but it works. From there, you'll move into a palm-to-palm catch, a sneaky little hammerlock, and a bunch of continuous turns that require sharp footwork and smooth transitions. The foot positions, hand changes, and rotations are broken down in detail—especially the stuff that’s hard to see unless someone points it out. This one’s all about timing and connection. Followers, you’ll need to stay aware of your rotation and hand placement, and leaders, you’ll be dancing from behind and around your partner like a ninja. It’s not a beginner pattern, but if you’ve been Two Steppin’ for a while and want something new to work on, this one’s a blast once you get it down. Try it slow at first—then take it to the floor.
