2S: Double Turns

In this lesson, Anthony and Rose break down a slick Two Step pattern that gives the leader a turn for once—because hey, why should followers have all the fun? This move looks way flashier than it is, and if you’re comfy with your basics, you’ll absolutely be able to pull it off. The pattern starts with a promenade setup and a prep that creates just enough space for the leader to make his move. You’ll walk through how to create that space, how to lead the rotation around your partner, and how to time the hand connection so it flows smoothly into a reverse cuddle. There’s a lot of focus here on positioning—especially how to use alignments to stay on track and avoid stepping into each other’s space. You’ll also get a bunch of great tips on hand connection (no gripping, pinching, or over-rotating) and how to communicate turns without pulling your partner off balance. The ending sets up a stylish release back into closed or separation—totally up to you. This one is fun, impressive, and super dance floor friendly once you get it in your muscle memory.
