Salsa: Alternating Turns
In this lesson, we’re building on the basic salsa turn and showing you how the leader and follower will both turn. This is where salsa starts to make a lot more sense, because there’s really a “his half” and a “her half.” You don’t both turn at the same time. One person does their thing, then the other person does theirs. We’ll show you how the leader can turn while making a behind the back hand change, how to set up the follower’s next turn, and how the hand positions give your partner a hint on what’s coming next. If you’re following, there’s one big thing to remember while the leader is turning: keep your feet moving and stay with the rhythm. Don’t stop just because he starts doing something you don't recognize.
