WHAT? WHEN? HOW?
The cost of entering the competitions is included in your weekend pass! There will be no additional charge for anyone wearing an event wristband. Just go to the sign up table and let us know if you’ll be participating!
For anyone without a weekend pass who has joined us as part of the regular night at Southern Junction, you’ll just pay $10 to register and participate in the competition.
ALL COMPETITION WILL BE “JACK AND JILL” which means no dance partner is necessary! You will be randomly paired with a leader/follower and judged as an individual (not as a couple).
We know you’re here to DANCE, so we will make sure there will be LOTS of social dancing between heats!

6:15pm: REGISTRATION
Just visit the Registration Table to register. Cost is FREE with a weekend pass or only $10 for the general public.
7:00pm: PROGRESSIVE (ROUND 1)
“Progressive” means any dance style that progresses around the dance floor such as Two Step, One Step, Polka, etc.
7:30pm: STATIONARY (ROUND 1)
“Stationary” refers to any dance style that does not progresses around the dance floor such as West Coast Swing, Country Swing, Etc
10:00pm: PROGRESSIVE (FINALS)
10:30pm: STATIONARY (FINALS)
8:00pm: DANCE PARTY
We know you came to dance! DJ Jordan Peterson of JP MOBILE MEDIA will play the best dance music until everyone’s feet have had enough!

FAQs
We just write down all the stuff you're going to ask so that you dont have to.
If you are registered for a weekend pass, competition fees are INCLUDED, so there will be no additional charge to participate.
If you are visiting for the regular dance evening at Southern Junction, they charge a $5 cover and there will be an additonal $10 charge to participate in the competition.
We are blending the best of traditional country styles such as Two Step, Polka, West Coast Swing etc with the more contemporary styles such as One Step, Country Swing, and more.
Progressive just means any dance style that progresses around the dance floor counter clockwise such as Two Step, One Step, Polka.
Stationary could be any dance that primarily stays in one area such as the various forms of swing dance, cha cha, more.
We hope this will allow everyone to bring their best stuff to the floor.Â
Just one. Keep it on the ground! This will be a Jack and Jill competition and safety is a priority.
No lifts, y’all!
You will simply register as a leader or a follower and you will be paired randomly with a partner. You will be judged as an individual, not as a couple in the preliminaries so just dance YOUR best!
No regular dance partner needed.
Most prizes will be awarded on the night of the event and you will leave with them that same evening. Some others (such as a virtual private lesson) can be scheduled at a future date that is convenient for you and the instructor.
